Offerings

The Academy

The Academy was designed around the emerging science of how organizations learn wellbeing. Here are some of our course offerings:

Discovering Organizational Wellbeing

A course designed to raise shared awareness and agency in our daily work. Learners explore practices rooted in the three relationship patterns that sustain organizational wellbeing: appreciative awareness of each other’s gifts, compassionate awareness of each other’s suffering, and intuitive awareness of our collective wisdom. This course encourages organizations to notice what is actually happening in their meetings, board rooms, and everyday interactions. As awareness deepens, they rediscover their capacity for agency in situations and relationships that previously felt rigid and stuck. They start to feel well.

Evolutionary Structure

A course for organizations who are ready to evolve away from centralized, pyramidal, command and control structures toward more adaptive, innovative, and humane self-organizing structures. Organizational design can’t create wellbeing, but it can severely hamper it. This course helps organizations take a fresh look at how they make decisions, share power, and coordinate their commitments. It focuses on autonomy, transparency, role crafting, natural accountability, and emergent strategy. It enables organizations to clear out expensive and dispiriting layers of control and restriction and frees people to more fully express their gifts, their dignity, and their creativity.

Generative Purpose:

A course for organizations who want to strengthen their capacity for social and environmental innovation. How does an organization develop the artistry and inventiveness to truly reimagine the world? The key lies in reorienting our relationship to purpose from something we do outside the organization to something we can experience inside the organization. When we learn to bring purpose more fully to life in the organizational everyday - in our board rooms and budget meetings and online calls - we unlock an electric, far-reaching creativity that we never knew we had. And we also discover hidden reservoirs of the courage and grit we’ll need to bring what we have imagined into reality.

Deep Ecology

A course to help organizations reclaim their rightful place as lifegiving members of the natural and communal worlds. This course takes us beyond the narrow mindset of harm reduction; it is weary work simply trying to be less bad. How can we relearn that our innate role in any ecology is regenerative not destructive? How can we rewild our organizations? Through biophilia, biomimicry, and impact transparency, this course reconnects us to ecology as a daily practice. It attunes organizations to their diversity and interdependence, their natural rhythms, and their capacity for wonder.

Teachers College

A program where learners design Org Schools in their own organizations, networks, and communities. At Teachers College, we think of learners as architects of the movement. We delve into the research, practices, and theories of organizational wellbeing, expressive organizing, and modes of organizational learning. Being a teacher doesn’t require a particular set of credentials or experiences. It is a way of being that can imagine and create a future where organizations are well.

Unconditional Accompaniment

A way of learning that invites our intuitions to reveal what it means for organizations to be well. Unconditional Accompaniment was born out of requests to be with organizations in a way that is unattached to outcomes, timelines, and structures. Organizations sensed that by practicing a more expansive, honest, and courageous way being together, new insights and innovations would spill over into forms, innovations, and possibilities that were previously unimaginable. They were right.

1000 Practices

A collection of practices that raise our shared awareness during the course of work. There are so many more ways to experience organizational wellbeing than we typically think possible. A tiny moment of genius can spontaneously release latent compassion, creativity, and innovation. This curated set of practices, sourced from organizations around the world, teach us that wellbeing begins in as many different ways as there are organizations.
